BIO

      

Óscar Payá Prats studied choral conducting at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo in Valencia. He completed his studies obtaining his master of music at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Prof. Jörg-Peter Weigle.

 

He conducted many choirs in Valencia, Madrid, and Berlin. With the group L’Almodi Cor de Cambra (L’Almodí Chamber Choir) which he founded and for which he serves as musical director, he participated in renowned festivals and concerts in Spain, collaborating with other groups like Capella de Ministrers, Harmonia del Parnás, or EVO. 

 

After his formal studies, Óscar Payá Prats participated in several conducting masterclasses in Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany, working with the renowned conductors Simon Halsey, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Daniel Reuss, Georg Grün, Laszlo Heltay, Jose Ramón Gil-Tàrrega and Juan Luís Martínez and conducting the Rundfunkchor Berlin, the Gaechinger Cantorey, and the Dresdner Kammerchor, among others.

 

Óscar Payá Prats was invited to many international events, such as Europa Cantat 2015 (Pécs, Hungary), Silberman-Tage (Freiberg, Germany) or 2° Campus Corale Giovanile (Sampeyre, Italy) In 2018 he conducted the Cor de Camba del Palau de la Música Catalana in their choral music concert series.
