Óscar Payá Prats (Enguera, 1979) is currently the Artistic and Musical Director of the Kammerchor Nürnberg (Nuremberg) and the Münchner Konzertchor (Munich), as well as founding and directing L'Almodí Cor de Cambra (Valencia). In 2021, he is working as Assistant Director of the Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana.
He completed his higher studies in choral conducting at the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory of Music in Valencia. He subsequently obtained a Master of Music degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, studying with Prof. Jörg-Peter Weigle.
He completed his training with various masterclasses in Spain, the Netherlands, Bulgaria and Germany, working with teachers such as Simon Halsey, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Frieder Bernius, Daniel Reuss, Georg Grün, Laszlo Heltay, Jose Ramón Gil-Tàrrega and Juan Luís Martínez, and conducting groups such as the Rundfunkchor Berlin, Bach Collegium, Gaechinger Cantorey and Dresdner Kammerchor, among others.
He has been the principal conductor of choral groups in Valencia, Madrid, Berlin and Munich, and has also been invited to national and international events, including Europa Cantat 2015 (Pécs, Hungary), Silberman-Tage 2013 (Freiberg, Germany), Campus Corale Giovanile (Sampeyre, Italy) and the Palau de la Música Catalana Choral Music Cycle, conducting the Cor de Cambra del Palau.
